A Perilous Horrorshow
by ~ScaryFairySwirling silk engulfs our bodies,
And we’re out in the ring once more.
Twisting with mesmerizing swiftness,
We’re barefoot in the bloodstained sand.
The false coliseum stands tall,
And a thousand eyes watch, entranced.
Torn between the love and fear of us,
Our frozen, grinning, exquisite masks.
And they can’t tear their eyes away,
Our movements galvanize their minds.
We cavort, parade, swan, strut, flounce.
Reverting to primal instincts.
Blades explode from their concealment,
Our vicious hands hold them up high,
An armed salute to brutality,
It’s the “dark beauty of violence”.
Bringing their blood to the boil,
With our splendour, our intense desires.
We control the crowds, the masses.
Their wailing war-cries hit the roof.
We are a carousel of hate,
A million, whirling, bright rapiers.
They can’t stop the unstoppable.
We’re bringing the horror-show home.
